You bump into someone and the usual reflex is ‘ Sorry ‘.  You make disparaging remarks and eventually if you’re Clarkson, Ross or Brand you say ‘ Sorry’ .  You alter Wikipedia to prove an anecdote and, as Cameron did, you say ‘ Sorry’.  You`re  called before the Treasury Select Committee to account for the collapse of the UK economy and you say  ‘Sorry’ …. many times….

If whilst you’d run the Treasury you’d asserted about abolishing boom and bust, but now as Prime Minister, the economy, jobs, business’ and credit are shrinking, what could you say to your taxpayers as way of sincerity ?

” There has got to be big regulatory change…We’ve learned from what has happened in these 10 years”….

Maybe saying sorry isn’t associated with humility in Gordon Brown‘s world.
